A reader reports that a new bar/restaurant has opened up just north of Madison Square Park called the Mason Jar (43 E. 30th Street between Madison and Park) right next to the Crooked Knife.

It serves comfort food and an extensive beer menu. Here is the Mason Jar’s menu.
