Madison Square Park music series announced, with Suzanne Vega kicking it off

The Madison Square Conservancy has just announced the line-up for their annual free outdoor concert series that runs Wednesday evenings from June 19th to August 7th on the oval lawn. Kicking it off is Susan Vega on June 19th (7-8:30pm). Vega is probably best known for her 80′s songs Tom’s Diner and Luca, but has continued on as a singer/songwriter/storyteller to this day.

The Deadly Gentlemen plus The Vespers play free concert in Madison Square Park today at 3pm

It’s the last show of the free Madison Square Park Music Studio Series today, with the Vespers at 3pm followed by the Deadly Gentlemen at 4pm. They play on a stage near the Shake Shack on the south side of Madison Square Park near 23rd and 5th Avenue.
Hosted by the Madison Square Park Conservancy, the theme here is American music (Americana, roots, bluegrass, blues, and folk).

Lineup announced for the Madison Square Park Music Studio Series

The Oval Lawn music series in Madison Square Park may have ended, but the lineup for the free Madison Square Park Music Studio Series was just announced by the Madison Square Park Conservancy. The theme here is American music (Americana, roots, bluegrass, blues, and folk) and it all starts up Saturday, September 15th, and then it follows for 3 more Saturdays and ends on October 6th.

It’s FREE, and takes place at 3pm each Saturday on the south side of Madison Square Park (near the Shake Shack) near 23rd and 5th Avenue. Here is the lineup:

Bettye LaVette plays free concert in Madison Square Park

Suzzy and Maggie Roche, Sloan Wainwright and Lucy Wainwright Roche free concert in Madison Square Park

The Madison Square Park Music series continues this evening from 6:30pm-8:30pm with folk music from Suzzy and Maggie Roche, Sloan Wainwright and Lucy Wainwright Roche.

It’s part of a FREE music series hosted by the Madison Square Park Conservancy and it takes place on the Oval Lawn in Madison Square Park on Wednesday evenings in the summer.

If you haven’t been to one of these yet, it’s great to just bring a blanket and some food (hit up the Fatty stand or grab some Shake Shack or bread, meats and cheese from Eataly) and have dinner and drinks on the lawn with music in the background.

As usual, Fatty Crew will be selling Ribs, Fatty Wedges, beer and more in the park from 12-8:30pm.
