Restaurant Week at Primehouse New York
We jumped at the chance to have dinner at Primehouse NY for their NYC Restaurant Week 2012 special 3-course meal for $35. Given that normally steaks on the dinner menu range from $38 (filet mignon) to $52 (Bone-in Filet), apps range from $10-$16 and desserts start at $8, it seemed like a great deal. And we weren’t disappointed.
Both of us started out with the Grilled Double Cut Bacon salad, which is smoky and rich with the Maytag Blue Cheese and what almost seems like bacon flavored vinaigrette. It’s decadent and delicious.

For entrees we got the Double Cut Sirloin, which is thick and aged for 21 days and served with a mushroom-potato croquette and house-made steak sauce. This is no skimpy piece of meat. We also got the Red Wine Braised Short Ribs which pulled right off on to the fork and was excellent.

Finally for dessert we had the Carrot Cake, with cream cheese frosting and ginger ice cream as well as the Warm Chocolate Cake with Cappuccino ice cream. Both were amazing and an equally decadent way to end the meal.
