And the winner this year is Lavazza at Eataly (200 5th Avenue) , with Stumptown at the Ace coming in second place, and Birch Coffee coming in 3rd place. Congratulations!

Results for 2010 Best Restaurants of the Madison Square Park/Flatiron Neighborhood

Thanks to all that voted for their favorite food in the neighborhood for the last year. We cleaned up the vote jammers and duplicates and here are the results:

Best New Restaurant of 2010 – ABC Kitchen (runner-up was No.7 Sub and then the John Dory Oyster Bar)

Best Burger of 2010 – ABC Kitchen (runner-up was the Shake Shack and then the Breslin)

Best Coffee/Cafe – Birch Coffee (runner-up was Stumptown and then Blue Dog Cafe)

Best Brunch – The Breslin (runner-up was Penelope and then Almond)

Best Pizza – A tie between Eataly’s La Pizza AND Patsy’s (followed by Waldy’s)

Best Indian – Tamarind (runner up was Chennai Garden and then Dhaba)

Best Takeaway Lunch – No. 7 Sub (runner-up was Birch and then ‘wichcraft)

Sometimes these surveys come down to who can rally their fans to vote for them, and there was certainly some of that evidenced in voting patterns. But overall, all of these restaurants are quite good, and definitely worth stopping by.

Shake Shack #1, Eataly #2, Stumptown #10 for FourSquare Checkins in New York City

The Feast ranked restaurants with the most FourSquare checkins as of January 12, 2011 for New York City and three in the Madison Square Park area placed in the top 10. Shake Shack (in Madison Square Park) took the top spot, followed by Eataly (200 5th Avenue) in second place, followed by Stumptown (20 West [...]

Update: Birch Coffee website is live (with a possible opening date mentioned)

It looks like the Birch Coffee website is officially live. You can read more about the coffee they will serve, their food menu, and their story. Word is they are shooting for a late October opening date. One cool thing they have said they will be doing is having an open library of books where you can borrow a book, donate a book,or just pick something up to read while you are there.

Flatiron Chefs in Madison Square Park: Update on the newcomers
